Gary, another thing I think to consider is setting up limits on things like facebook to keep what you are doing in your personal life separate from business as well. Once a person has their personal life pretty well contained from there they ought to look to build a business online presence with things like linkedin.com if they are a professional or studentgenius.com if they are a student.
