Start Your Online Business For Free
It’s true – you don’t need anything but an Internet connection to start your online business. You don’t need a domain or web hosting or an expensive graphic design. Everything you need is already online and it’s all free. Let’s look at some of the excellent freebies that are available to you.
Blogs are such a great way to get into online marketing. All you need to do is decide what your niche is and go create a free blog. Later on, once you have got past the initial learning curve and you have started to make some money, you can look at setting up a blog on your own hosting account. Here is a short list of some of the best free blog services:
Blogger.com – owned by Google and probably the biggest of the bunch. Easy to use and also easy to integrate an Adsense account so you can start making money without having to set up any product or affiliate links.
WordPress.com – WordPress is the most popular blogging software that is used on web hosting accounts. With that in mind, it’s smart thinking to get a free blog at WordPress.com if you are planning on having your own website in the future – that way you will already know your way around the WordPress program.
Weebly – this site has a very cool user interface. It’s all drag and drop and allows you to create your own website AND blog. Check out the demo video on their homepage.
Now that you have your first site set up – it’s time to start learning about how to bring people to your blog and how to do some of the other core online marketing activities such as building a mailing list of people who are interested in your products, your services or simply want to learn some of the things that you are able to teach.
One of the best ways to build a mailing list for free is to use squeeze pages in Traffic Exchanges. So, we’re going to need some more kit to make some squeeze pages and then get them online in some traffic exchanges.
For the autoresponder, we’re going to use TrafficWave. This is the service that I use and they have a 30 day free trial. That gives you a full month to start making some income to cover that cost (which is only $17.95/mth). Yes, I know that isn’t totally free but with services like autoresponders it just isn’t possible to get a reliable service that is 100% free. Besides, it gives you your first goal – make $5 per week by the end of your first month. If you can do that then you are still in the black on the balance sheet!
Next up we are going to need some squeeze pages. We have a couple of options here.
Instant Squeeze Page Generator – ISPG is arguably the most popular squeeze page service on the Internet. Membership is free and you can log in there and build your squeeze page using an easy step by step system. They even provide products and reports that you can give away to encourage people to sign up to your list.
TrafficLeads2Income – TL2I was launched at the beginning of this year and includes a full lead capture and downline system with your squeeze page. Again, setup is an easy step by step system and excellent support.
Once you have your squeeze page you will need to add it to a page on your blog. All you need to do there is create a new page and then paste in the HTML code that is provided by ISPG or TL2I.
With your blog and squeeze page all set up, the next step is to start driving some traffic to your squeeze page. You can do this in many different ways including:
- Traffic Exchanges
- Social Networks (e.g. Twitter, Facebook)
- Bookmarking Services (e.g. StumbleUpon)
- Your Forum Signature
All of that stuff requires a little bit of study – but I’ve made that easy for you. Your next step is to sign up at WhirlwindTraffic Manual Traffic Exchange. As soon as you log in for the first time, click on the option near the bottom of the menu that says ‘New Members Pack’. In there you will find 4 excellent guides written by TE and list building experts. Read through the guide and then take the two video tours near the top of the member area.
After you’ve read the guides and watched the videos, you could also sign up for free at Net Marketing Club to get a whole lot more free training and participate in the member forum.
I look forward to seeing you there!

I have been using wordpress and blogger until now but I never tried the autoresponder and other things you’ve mention on the article. thanks for the input.
